MWTS 2015 Race #9, Rt 66 Raceway
It was a late night Saturday by the time the race was done and cars put away, of course meeting in someone's pit and swapping stories of the day over some good food and beverage, I guess it was about
midnight or later before most turned in for the night. So, then Sunday morning maybe came a little early for most of us?? Sunday morning we started the day with 18 cars, a nice field for Race #9.
Tim Kirman was low qualifier with a 6.74. ( sorry but I never got a qualifing sheet with times and mph's), so I'm not sure what Tim's mph was, but over 200 , I'm most certain. Tim was followed by Ricky Sojka and Kyle Dumke.
Round 1 winners were: Steve Jaeger, Brandon Baxter, Rich Kent, Ricky Sojka, Erik Carlson, Kyle Dumke, John Steldt, John Lynch, and Don Matiecka. 2nd round was: Baxter over Kent; Sojka over Carlson; Dumke over Steldt; Lynch over Matiecka; and Jaeger had the bye. 3rd round was: Jaeger over Baxter; Lynch over Dumke; and Sojka had the bye. Semi final round saw Jaeger over Sojka; and Lynch had the bye. John
Lynch took the win over Steve Jaeger in the final round. Congratulations to John and his family on their 2nd win in MWTS this season. Great job! Congrat's to Steve Jaeger and family on a great day! Ricky Sojka took the bounty on Dave Howard.
There's only 3 more MWTS races left!! Next one is at Byron Dragway on August 29th and 30th!!
MWTS 2015 Race #8, Rt 66 Raceway
Everyone had a nice time Friday night having a few drinks and good food with the racing families, whether you were allready in the pits or staged outside gate 11. We got an early start to get in the gates for the Route 66 Classic, on a beautiful Saturday morning. The pits filled up quickly and we looked to have a great showing for Race #8. We are happy to welcome back John Scali and family to MWTS, they have been members in the past, and we are glad to have them back. Also racing with us Saturday was William Hoth Jr. and Rich Kent and John Steldt. We hope you enjoyed spending the day with MWTS, and hope to have you back!
We started qualifing with 23 entries, unfortunately Alex Bosak, who is holding on to 2nd in the points, had a mechanical failure and was not able to continue the day. So sorry Alex and Zach. Kyle Dumke was low qualifier with an outstanding run of 6.66 @ 207 mph!!! Great job, Kyle and Larry! Ricky Sojka was 2nd low with a 6.75 @ 205mph followed by John Scali and Brandon Baxter with 6.93's.
First round winners were: Kyle Dumke, Brandon Baxter, Steve Jaeger, John Scali, Sean Brady, Andre Harris, Matt Szymczak, Dave Howard, Don Matiecka, Chris Redden and Rich Kent. 2nd round saw, Baxter over Jeager; Scali over Brady; Szymczak over Harris; D.Howard over Matiecka; Kent over Redden; and Dumke had the bye run. 3rd round was, Baxter over Dumke; Szymczak over Scali; DHoward over Kent. Semi finals were: Baxter over Szymczak; and Howard had the bye. D. Howard took the win over Baxter in the final round. Congrat's to Dave Howard and Team Tacchia on your 3rd win in a row! Also, Congrat's to Brandon Baxter and his team! Brandon did a great job all day, running dead on dial ins, and just outstanding reaction times!!!
The whole MWTS race on Saturday was full of .00 reaction times and dead on dials, and races which were won by just by a thousand of a second!!! What a show!!! Great job to all of our racers and teams!!
MATT SYZMCZAK WINS T/S @ NMCA-NMRA EVENT
Matt Syzmczak won at Route 66 this past weekend at the NMCA-NMRA event. Congratulations to Matt and his crew! Matt had a very good consistant car all weekend. Hochsteddler, John Lynch, Dave Howard, Tim Kirman, Kyle Dumke, Alex Bosak, Ed Kurth, Chris Redden, Robbie VanderWoude, Steve Howard, and Dave Granger.
Matt went up against Steve Jaeger in the final. Congrats to the Jaeger team, also! Great job on your first weekend back out. They had a shoot-out for all the class winners. Unfortunately Matt was unable to make another pass, so Steve Jaeger ran it and won that matchup. All in all, a great weekend for MWTS!
MWTS 2015 Race #6 and #7, Lucas Oil Raceway
MWTS RACE #7 JULY 19 ,2015 - LUCAS OIL RACEWAY INDIANAPOLIS, IN.
It's Sunday morning!! Here we go with MWTS Race #7. We were thinking Saturday evening we would have
more cars Sunday racing, but it was disappointing to learn that we would not. Some of our guys left Sunday morning, not sure if it was due to mechanical problems or what?? It was a beautiful morning to start Race #7. No rain in the forecast and not quite as hot as Saturday! So we started the day with 11 cars. Today we welcomed Kymon Dinkel and crew to race with us. Hope they had a good time. They were low qualifier of the day with a 6.67 @ 201 mph. Dinkel was followed by Rick Sojka Jr. with a 6.82 @ 202mph and Steve Howard with a 7.03 @ 196. Nice job guys! MWTS RACE #6 JULY 18,2015 - LUCAS OIL RACEWAY INDIANAPOLIS, IN.
Well, it's been awhile since we raced. Although some have run divisionals and national events, we are headed for a weekend at Lucas Oil Raceway Park in Indianapolis, Ind. Some of us arrived Friday evening and enjoyed catching up with the latest news! We were surprised to see Rob Meservier from Thunder Bay,
Ontario! He brought the doughnuts! Glad to also welcome Rob as a new MWTS member. He and his crew
are alot of fun, and hope he able to make a few more long hauls!!!
Saturday morning came and the weather was great and we were ready for MWTS racing! We started out with 17 Top Sportsman cars on the property, but 2 who were not members decided to test only. We lost Mike Olenick to problems while warming up and Tony Grzelinski hurt his trans on the first qualifier. Dave Howard was low qualifier with a 6.76 @ 202mph. He was followed by Rick Sojka Jr. with a 6.80 @ 203, and Kyle Dumke with a 6.93 @ 197. Great job guys.
The track was in really good shape considering all the rain that they have had and the heat Saturday. It had got up to 124 degrees track temperature!! Thank-You track officials for giving us a really good track to run on!! 1st round pairings were: D. Howard had a bye; Pekrul vs Julius; Dumke vs Meservier; S. Howard vs Bosak; Sojka vs Szymczak; Redden vs Lynch; and Vanacora vs Steldt. 2nd round was: D. Howard vs Pekrul; Dumke vs Bosak; Szymczak had the bye; and Redden vs Vanacora. Semi final saw D. day! The Bounty Hunter went to Chris Redden for his roundwin over last MWTS winner, John Lynch. Chris got $50. We would like to say welcome and thanks for running with us to Glenn Julius and Jon Steldt. We were glad to have you!! It was such a hot, humid day that the pits were pretty quiet Saturday night. Surprised everyone didn't run out of water from just standing under a cold shower!!! Bags and bags of ice, cases and cases of water, and maybe just a few cold brews? and everyone was in for the night. Have a cool great night, see you all tomorrow for day 2, Race #7!!
We at MWTS would like to Welcome 6 new Sponsors for the 2015 season:
M & W Marine
Westside Motor Coach
Scurto Cement Construction
That makes 15 sponsors for 2015. We hope to see all of our sponsors track side or in the pits this season. We can not thank all of you enough!! Without our sponsors we would not be able to continue
with MWTS! Please support them and give them a thank-you when you see them!
MWTS 2015 Race #2 and #3, Byron Dragway
10 MWTS members pulled in Friday afternoon & evening at Byron Dragway, all eager to hit the track Saturday morning. But, Mother Nature had other plans for us yet again! Yes, IT RAINED, and it didn't quit till late Saturday afternoon!! B.J. and his crew were relentless in constantly blowing water off the track and running the sweeper tractor, while we all huddled under Sojka's canopy and wondered why he was still out there, even in the hardest rainfall!!?? While the kids played in the "lakes" we all had by our rigs, and we all huddled under those canopies or stayed unside watching movies, B.J. had a plan.. He proved to all of us that
he knew, he would be way ahead Sunday morning with an already dry track and "THANK-YOU'', so much dry pits Saturday night!!! Thank-You B.J. and crew for all your endless hard, wet work Saturday. We are all
humbled and so gratefull for the time spent getting "the playground of power" ready for Sunday. I know that MWSC along with us are very thankful. So, I can say that I found out how to run the washer dryer in the
motorhome and dryed the "swimwear" some needed dryed, while watching the old TV series "Soap" with a few fellow racers. I know that across the street, they were watching "American Sniper" and who know what else was happening in there! Hey, Charlie, hard to sleep with grenades going off?? Bruce Carlson woke up and wondered if he'd slept till Sunday!!?? The last I saw Larry Dumke, he was headed for a nap! Us girls were all giddy to see the newest Symczak, baby Bryce!! It was his first time at the track!! Soo, cute! Later everyone gathered around "Griz's" pit to watch the Blackhawks skate to Victory!! Then, like mice, scurried away to their warm rigs!
Sunday morning was pretty cool, but SUNNY!!!! YIPEEE!!! In the sun, the new tower looks great! Couldn't wait to get out and check the new track surface. So, Race #2 was cancelled. Sunday will be Race #3. We
started out with 18 entries, all but 1 MWTS members. Nice paint job, Kyle and Larry Dumke, it looks Great!!!
First round Qualifing we had a very unfortunate incident when Robbie VanderWoude hit the wall. We are all so sorry Rob and Robbie. We hope to see you guys soon. We also had 3 others with issues, that had to load
up. So, after 2nd round qualifing, we had Dave Howard with a 6.97 @ 199 mph. as our low qualifier, followed by Scotty Haas 6.98 and Matt Symczak 7.16. Good job, guys!
First round was: D. Howard over Eddie Banderowicz; M. Symczak over S. Howard; A. Bosak over K. Dumke; Nick ? (sorry) over S. Haas; D.Matiecka over C. Redden; R.Sojka over J.Hochsteddler; and J.Lynch over
2nd round was: D.Howard bye run; Matt over Alex; Don over Nick, and John over Ricky. Semis were: Dave over Matt and John over Don. Congratulations to John Lynch and his whole crew on their great job to get the win!!! John was so consistant and tough all day! Welcome to MWTS!
Also, congrats to Dave Howard and Team Tacchia, on the runner-up finish. Nice Job. The $50 Bounty on Alex Bosak went to Matt Symczak. I am not sure if there was a Perfect Light!?? Also, Ricky Sojka got a $30 bonus for having the fastest mph. He was over 200!
Next MWTS Race is June 13th and 14th at Cordova Dragway in Cordova, Illinois. Hope to see a great car
count. Till then, Happy Racing!
MWTS 2015 Race #1, Rt 66 Raceway
The 2015 MWTS season hs officially begun!! The weather appeared that maybe our first race would be delayed, but a cool damp morning soon cleared and warmed up to be a great racing day! It was so great to see everyone again after a long winter. Our count was a little low, probably some due to the weather outlook, and some to very unfortunate casualties the weekend before. Testing at Route 66 had a couple motors go down, Div.3 Indy had a motor failure, and one of our original members crashed his car at Cordova. We hope to have everyone back soon.
So, Saturday morning we started the day with 15 entries. All 15 were MWTS members. We welcomed John Lynch and his dad Frank to their first MWTS race!! We are so glad to have them in our association! The other 14 on Saturday were, Tim Kirman, Ricky Sojka, Dave Green, Dave Howard, Chris Redden, Dave Espisito, Andre Harris, Tony Grzelinski, Alex Bosak, Mike Olenick, Steve Howard, Don Matiecka, Chad
Pekrul, and Robbie VanderWoude. Chad Pekrul has a beautiful new car!!
During qualifing we lost 4 cars to mechanical failures! Boy, our guys are having a rough start! We really hope
everyone is able to get all fixed up and no more troubles to anyone! Tim Kirman was our low qualifier with a great 6.70 @ 205! He was followed by Ricky Sojka with a 6.73 and Dave Green with a 6.82. Nice job, guys!
Kirman had a bye run 1st round and it was Harris over Grzelinski; D.Howard over Matiecka; S.Howard over Redden; Green over Pekrul; and Bosak over Espisito. 2nd round was Harris over Kirman; S.Howard over D.Howard; and Bosak over Green. The semi's has S.Howard over Harris; and Bosak had the bye.
Congratulations to our 1st Race of the season winner, Alex Bosak!! Alex and Zach you guys were tough all day!! A great start to the 2015 season! Also, congrats to Steve Howard and Jake Burkhart on your runner-up
finish. There was no perfect light in eliminations and the Bounty will be on Alex at the next race.
Well, we have 3 weeks off to heal all our wounded cars. Next race is May 30th and 31st, at Byron Dragway. Byron has made alot of nice updates to the facility. Can't wait to check them out!! Hope we all have 2 great
days of racing there! See you all soon, can't wait for Race #2 and #3!!
