About The "Midwest Top Sportsman"

During the 2008 Top Sportsman race series at Route 66 Raceway, there where two gentlemen, James Pattin and Brian Brown, that said enough is enough and started to promote and fund prize monies for the class of racers known as the Top Sportsman. The actual quote was” It’s time to put some fun back into this sport”.

After a couple of months a website was launched and it started to grow, now the fun has begun. By the end of the year, there was over 50 cars on the site and more sponsors joining in. Things where looking good for Top Sportsman racing. Over the winter season it was decided to become serious and start an Association Inc. The Midwest Top Sportsman Association had decided to take there organization to the next level. Beginning in 2009 they have taken steps to develop into a Non-Profit  Association to promote Top Sportsman Drag Racing throughout the Midwest the “Midwest Top Sportsman Association Inc.”

In 2010 we have 11 events between Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, IL; Cordova Dragway Park in Cordova, IL and US 131 Motorsports Park in Martian, MI. We are already setting our sites on bigger and better things for 2011 by the extension of the series to all points of the compass. MWTS will also focus on developing a fan base as well as continuing to promote the family atmosphere. We are over 35 members strong and growing. Whether you are a driver, sponsor or a fan, see what a family of drag racing is like and join our association to be part of that family.

We are looking forward to seeing you at the races.
